This recipe is one of those go to recipes when I have no idea what to make for dinner and I have hungry, grouchy children at my feet. I always try to have turkey smoked sausage in the freezer for meals like this. The sausage thaws super fast and this recipe goes together quickly. You can find blackening season in the herbs and spices section of the grocery store, or you can make your own. I use lighter ingredients for this pasta, but the full fat version is good too! :) Serve with bread and a salad and you have a great dinner on the table.
Cajun Pasta
16 ounces whole what fettuccine pasta
1 lb turkey smoked sausage
1 teaspoon blackening seasoning
1 (16 ounce) jar light alfredo sauce
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon blackening seasoning
1 (16 ounce) jar light alfredo sauce
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
Cook fettuccine noodles.
Cut smoked sausage into slices.
Sprinkle with blackening seasoning.
Cook in skillet until brown.
Into the sausage stir in the alfredo and the tabasco.
Heat through.
Pour over pasta.
Toss until coated.

This was delicious! I love pasta dishes on the nights I work late (and the dinner fairy fails to show up to make it for me!).
